This week was not a good week for dieting. In a matter of three days, my cousin’s grandfather (my great uncle) passed away, my best friend’s mother-in-law passed away unexpectedly, and my wheelchair broke down and left me stranded outside (luckily my neighbor saved me and brought me back in the house, and a tech fixed the chair the next morning, thankfully). I was hoping to have a 1-month recap post with photos for you . . . and that is just not happening today. (Hopefully next week.)
Between stress and the chaos of the week, I strayed from the Nutrisystem diet at least twice, didn’t meet water goals most days, and skipped snacks. Clearly not the poster-child this week, I didn’t expect to lose anything . . . and pretty much just hoped I hadn’t gained.
Despite the chaos and straying from the diet multiple times, I still lost weight. Even with the set backs, the program is still improving my overall diet, and it’s showing. And although I skipped snacks when I shouldn’t have, I also didn’t shove my face with junk food instead, which is my usual emotional response to chaos.
Well . . . it’s showing on the scale. I honestly can’t tell that I’ve lost weight from clothes or the mirror, but I’m trying to be patient with that. Slow and steady, right?
I’m a pound shy of my goal for the first month, but hopefully next week I’ll be celebrating that goal and earning my first Nutribear (more on that next week!)
When you’re stressed, do you tend to overeat or not eat at all?

That’s great you were still able to lose a little, even if you strayed a little. I don’t know that I snack because of stress, but sometimes I’m just dying for some chocolate, then end up eating too much. :-/

Something I’ve noticed when on another diet system is that when you do these, the changes you make in the rest of your life to go with the products are super-helpful in making sure you still lose!

I do a little of both over eating and under eating. Like I skip meals all together but over dose on snacking. Good luck girl! i’ll keep you in my thoughts.

I’m an eater. Stress means terrible food choices. Good for you for not losing total control! The fact that you managed to lose weight despite the chaos is fantastic and a great indicator of your ability to do this long term!
