One of the unfortunate things that can happen when you’re trying to get pregnant (TTC), is that sex with your significant other can start feeling scheduled, thanks to the short window that conception can actually occur. And anyone who’s been fighting infertility can tell you: it can feel like a struggle to keep the intimacy and “spark” going in your relationship when you’re so focused on a baby bump.
Valentine’s Day is supposed to be about going that extra mile to reaffirm your affection towards your spouse, which makes it an especially important time to do something sweet for your TTC partner.
8 Great Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for TTC Women:
Fuel Her Addiction to Pee Sticks
Want to really show your lady that you love her? Add to her arsenal of ovulation (opk’s) and pregnancy tests. And before you ask: No, you can NEVER have too many. There are times in your cycle when you’ll use 3 or 4 tests a day . . . even more, depending on questionable evaporation lines and difference in line darkness. Have no idea what I’m talking about and want to avoid ever hearing it again? Help stockpile the pee sticks. This Combo pack 40 (LH) Ovulation tests and 10 (HCG) Pregnancy tests is my staple for pee stick obsession.

Timeless Lingerie
Lingerie just seems like a no brainer, right? Lingerie is synonymous with February 14. But, when you’re trying desperately to have a baby, it’s easy to develop a bad body image. She may not be interested in parading around in see-through mesh and a g-string. That being said, it’s still important to remind the woman in your life that she is beautiful – inside and out – and that even if you have to bump uglies on a schedule, you still find her attractive.
I really like this City Lights Nightie from OnGossamer . It’s a really fun print and is still sexy without being too revealing.
Custom Charting Calendar
Make her a custom calendar to chart her cycle, with pictures of your family, pets, or inspirational quotes to help keep her spirits up when she’s struggling through the hard days. (Like those inevitable times when 30 people announce a pregnancy on Facebook in a week.) I really like how easy it is to customize printed gifts like calendars on sites like Shutterfly.
Spa Time
Did you know lowering stress levels can be a huge factor in conquering infertility? Time for some pampering!
If you’re not sure where to get a Spa gift card, try getting her some at-home indulgence, like this awesome HoMedics Body Bubbles Bath Spa, that turns your bathtub into a bubbling spa. Light some candles, run a hot bath, and give her an hour of peaceful bathing. She’ll love you forever!
Fruit/Veggie Baskets.
If your spouse is on a special diet to promote fertility, showing up with a heart box of chocolates might put her in tears (and you on the couch!) Try opting for healthier fruits, like this seriously delicious looking Fruit, Cheese and Nuts Delight Fruit Basket, and show her that you’re paying attention and support the lifestyle changes she’s making to get pregnant.
The Fertility Bible: Taking Charge of Your Fertility (TCOYF).
This is actually at the top of my own Valentine’s Day wish list this year. (Hi, Hello, Hey Ben. You listenin’ buddy? Okay, probably not. I’ll just buy it and pretend it was from you. K thanks.)
As part of a relatively large infertility/TTC community, I learned very early that Taking Charge of Your Fertility is among the most highly recommended books for women trying to get pregnant.
If you have other resource book suggestions for TTC or pcos, let me know!
A No-Baby-Talk Night Out
If you and your spouse is having trouble getting pregnant, odds are, she’s had a day where every pregnant belly in sight made her feel like the walls were caving in. You’ve probably had days like that too.
It’s important to take a break from the mental exhaustion of infertility – so start right now! Plan a romantic/fun/silly date for the two of you, with the rule that neither of you will mention pregnancy or infertility at all.
A Wedge Pillow
This gift has quite a few perks, from spicing up your love life to keeping her more comfortable while keeping her hips up after sex.
I’ve had my eye on a Liberator Wedge for awhile because the set is supposed to have this magical microfiber that sticks together like Velcro.
